so when nazi skinheads started showing up at dead kennedys concerts, in part bc of nazi imagery in the punk scene in general and in part bc of the dead kennedysâ satirical use of fascist imagery in places like kill the poor and the california uber alles video, they didnât brush it off with âwell itâs SATIRE and itâs not our fault they donât get it! this isnât our problem!â; they wrote nazi punks fuck off to 1) make the nazis who had look ridiculous and 2) make it clear they were unwelcome at their shows.
when someoneâs response to being called out on their bullshit is âitâs satire and I donât need to address people who misunderstand it!â, thatâs a deliberate choice theyâre making. they have other options.
I think what Iâm trying to get at is if nazis, alt-righters, or whatever losers like something you make, you can and probably should take responsibility for that. Even if itâs satire, if it was taken the wrong way, whatever. You can close your ears, you can make fun of people who hate your work because nazis love it since you donât think the nazis are your problem, or you can use your work, the same work they love, to tell them to fuck off.
Just a reminder, but you do not need to âearnâ being tired.
Youâre allowed to be tired, even if you havenât âdoneâ anything and youâre allowed to be tired even if you did less than someone else.
Being tired is a normal thing your body does for a whole plethora of reasons, and is a basic bodily function. You donât need to âearnâ basic bodily functions, no matter what anyone else tells you.

people really need to stop making fun of young trans boys who go through the âim a soft plant boy uwuâ phase, who dye their hair pastel colors, who go through the space prince phase, who dresses very feminine. realizing youâre trans can be pretty tough so staying âsoftâ can be a good middle ground for these young boys who were previously raised feminine. making fun of young trans men that call themselves soft/soft boys is so harmful. let them find themselves, grow out of it on their own. if you consider yourself an âelderâ and make fun of these kids youâre a terrible role model.
